Biography

Pete Karnes - blues harp/vocals, Pete is a world renowned blues harp (harmonica) player and singer/songwriter who has recorded albums with the likes of blues legend John Lee Hooker (“The Cream” – 1977) and performed with just about everybody from the golden age of blues - from Muddy Waters, BB King, Big Walter and on down the line. Based out of Portland, Oregon in the 1970’s & 80’s Pete and his band (the Pete Karnes Blooz Band) were a substantial part of the west coast blues scene. Pete brought out blues legend JB Hutto for five west coast tours with his band. Pete also brought Big Walter Horton, Johnny Shines, and Robert Jr Lockwood out to Portland. Pete released two albums – “A Shot and a Back” and “Dark Of The Woods”. Both of these albums are rare and esteemed by collectors of great blues music.
