David Lareau and The Copperpots
Biography

David Lareau is one of the few musicians fortunate enough to have found himself and his sound early in life. Listening to his prolific body of work, fans can expect to get "all Dave, all the time" with no filler, and lots of melody. His natural talent for building layered music filled with hooks has taken him from bookstore gigs to underground bars to stadium crowds - and spending any time with his music will show you why. From burn-the-house-down rockers to songs that feel more at home by a campfire, David's songwriting and guitar prowess have the ability to distill into something universally appealing. His earlier work draws from the 90's brit-pop explosion and leans heavily on influences such as The Verve, The Smiths, Stone Roses, and Oasis. However, in the early 2000's, you could see his musical style shift and combine his prior influences with mainstream-American rock radio. Today we see him develop into a more mature, experimental singer-songwriter. The new sound explores the realm of melodic-Americana while teasing with the taste of British power-pop. Imagine if Neil Young and The Beatles had sex, their kid would be the illustration of his sound - just enough edge with a waterfall of melody. His stage presence, songs, and inexhaustible passion for music have earned him the love and respect of countless devoted fans as well as fellow musicians. David's music is the type of music you want to make, whether or not you play music yourself - consistently inspiring listeners and crowd members to realize, "That's exactly how I would do it." "That would be me." Written by T. Reed Sour Tone Magazine
